Dr. Hillbilly
I grew up in a small rural town in the 1960s – 1970s, in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. In this area of West Virginia and the Ohio River Valley, there is a particular leave us alone/moonshiner mindset that was instilled into me. I have long since left the area – but carry a part of the mountains, creeks and hollers with me.
Pathway To The Present
I left the Ohio Valley area and went to college. I knew I wanted to go into research so first stop was a B.S. I knew I wanted to have a viable profession out of the gate, so the B.S. was in Pharmacy.
Next stops, a research internship, then grad school. A newly minted Dr. Hillbilly, king of the hill, started on the bottom rung of the Academic Medicine Research Complex.

15 years as a Clinical Professor and an NIH, and FDA funded researcher.

7 years with Big Pharma in drug commercialization and new product planning.

Study Design/Analysis
15 years and counting working in the Pharma and Healthcare space. I’ve worked in Big Pharma much of my career but still maintain my skepticism.
